The amount of positive superlatives I could use for this cake are endless!
First of all, Emma was an absolute joy to be in contact with. Throughout our changes of dates, she organised what I could only describe as our dream wedding cake, sticking to our gothic theme and creating eccentric flavours and artwork.
Our cake was just divine! A three tiered, mouth watering taste explosion of salted caramel, lemon drizzle and a passion fruit martini layer that included actual passion fruit pips to give that burst of flavour. My mouth is watering just remembering how it tasted! It went down an absolute treat with our guests as well!
Thank you so much for creating our wedding cake – I would definitely put Emma in the ‘top tier’ of cake makers (excuse the pun)!

We met Emma at a wedding show that was being held at Voewood, she had an amazing cake on show – so we knew we had to go for her. The cake was stunning, exactly what we wanted and delicious!
Emma made my cake for my wedding and not only was it stunning but so yummy too.

Emma’s unicorn cake for our daughter’s 3rd birthday was not just a chocolate extravagance it was absolutely beautifully made. Everyone at the party commented on the cake how special it looked and tasted. I recommend Emma 150%; we will have her cakes at many more kids’ birthday parties.
Is it ok to eat cake for breakfast, lunch & dinner..? I think the rule is absolutely if it’s a yummy Buns of Fun Bakery cake !!! Thank you so much Emma for our gorgeous Gingerbread & Chocolate Orange Wedding Cake-it fitted our winter wedding theme just perfectly! We were over the moon with it and it tastes divine too. Emma was so so helpful in our consultation and managed to draw my vision perfectly despite the very muddled directions I gave. We can’t thank you enough or recommend you high enough!!!

I can’t thank Emma enough for the amazing cake she crafted for our wedding back in October. It was both beautiful and delicious in equal measures and Emma was a genuine pleasure to deal with throughout the whole process. We had so many wonderful comments from our guests and it almost felt a shame to eat, as was such a work of art! Emma gave us everything we could have wanted from our cake, she understood thoroughly and her communication was excellent even when mine wasn’t. Everyone enjoyed it and commented on both taste and how stunning it was.
Absolutely lovely lady and went above and beyond with the cake offering ideas based around our ideas.
Emma did a wonderful job with our cake. She understands completely what we wanted, and it looked stunning when it arrived with some added greenery. It tasted absolutely amazing and was definitely worth what we paid.
From the beginning Emma was so welcoming and helpful. I didn’t know where to begin and she helped me to consider a variety of ideas – sharing many of her previous cakes. She really understood what we needed and helped us to feel comfortable with our ideas. She also helped me to work around the dietary requirements of our guests in a flexible way. She was warm but professional. Emma arrived with plenty of time and produced the most professional and delicious cake – it was a masterpiece!
I contacted Emma very early prior to our wedding date of 9th September, she was extremely helpful and came up with some wonderful ideas which made our decision of what type of cake we wanted so much easier. She offered a great service which included log cake stands, and also provided sample cake if we required it prior to the big day. It was the most amazing looking and tasting cake our guests had tasted (their words) and we would highly recommend Emma to anyone. Such a lovely lady too. Emma was highly recommended by the Cley Windmill, it was the best decision we made to use Emma Thorburn of Buns of Fun Bakery.
Emma went above and beyond being our cake maker and contributed greatly in making our day a truly special one she even ironed table runners for us after arriving at the venue to deliver the cake and finding us in a complete state of chaos!! She was amazing and the cake was absolutely to die for, so much so that my husband has promised to ask her to make the lemon cake from our top tier again for our first anniversary as I was so disappointed, I didn’t get any of it. I came across one of Emma’s cakes in a bridal magazine and knew right away she was the person I wanted to make our cake, I even insisted on paying her a deposit weeks before I met her to ensure she was available to do our cake. I was definitely not disappointed and would recommend her to anybody.
Our cake was everything we hope it would be and more – Emma’s creative vision is second to none, I’m truly convinced of this. It also looked as good as it tasted – even the vegan and gluten free options, which I know from past experience can be hard to get right! It was definitely a collaborative work to get to our end cake, but we couldn’t have been happier with it. Emma was recommended to me by so many people who had worked with her. I was also very inspired by the pictures of her previous works. We booked Buns of Fun partly because of a solid recommendation from our photographer but more so because of the coverage from p local publications and feedback on social media. We needed somebody who could make a three tier GF cake but make it taste heavenly. Like I said before, Emma made us feel totally relaxed with the process and we didn’t feel railroaded into something we did not want. Emma kept us informed appropriately of proceedings and although we did tweak the order slightly, it was not too much effort (or if it was, she hid it well.) Buns of Fun was not local to us living near Watton and I’m sure there would have been other more local suppliers but when it’s such an important element of the day, effort should be made. We WILL use Buns of Fun again for sure
The theme was woodland, rustic, festival colours, foliage. The cake needed to be GF. could have been a nightmare for some but not Emma. Our consultation was at her business premises and had every conceivable option imaginable. We opted for Lemon sponge, ginger sponge and a heavy, dark fruit cake. Emma’s enthusiasm is infectious and this came across in her design and execution. on the day, Emma arrived bang on time with what can only be described as perfection. The taste actually Wowed our guests. Well pleased
I found Emma at a local wedding show and her cakes looked beautiful and tasty. We had a meeting at the house in Sheringham where she showed some of her previous work and discussed what sort of design we wanted as well as more practical elements such as how big the cake would need to be. She was full of ideas and suggestions and was very flexible when I changed my mind on some of my ideas. On the day we were thrilled with it and everyone commented on how beautiful and delicious it was. We booked because from the cakes we had seen we thought Emma’s looked beautiful and natural. We wanted a cake that looked like it would be good to eat and not just ornamental.
We had lots of different ideas for our wedding cake and were unable to pinpoint exactly what we wanted. Talking to Emma and through clever questioning, she was able to pull our idea together and determine what our vision for the cake was. She also helped us choose flavours, enhancing them with subtle details. Our four-tier cake looked absolutely gorgeous and the two different alternating flavours tasted incredible. The cake was a statement piece and loved by ourselves and our guests. Emma was easy to work with, professional and very detail oriented. From our first meeting she seemed to understand and clarify our vision. Her prices were also very competitive and fair. The cake on the day was phenomenal- exactly what we wanted and described…but better.
I had a small intimate wedding and wanted some simple but elegant cupcakes to display and enjoy. Buns of Fun, even though at short notice, didn’t fail to deliver! Our cupcakes arrived looking beautiful and the guests all admired the stunning and intricate detail on each cake. They tasted as good as they looked! Buns of Fun were very highly recommended by our wedding venue. Buns of Fun we’re extremely helpful, corresponding with me both by email and by phone to ensure they met my requirement. Even though I gave them very short notice, they delivered exactly what I had asked for and we were delighted.
Very dedicated and skilful Baker! Able to match the exact vision my husband and I hoped for our wedding cake! Fab personality and loved the warm-hearted welcome when discussing ideas or having any queries. Nothing is ever too much to ask and we loved our finished result (and so did everyone else!) have recommended to others not just for weddings 🙂 not only great looking but fantastic flavour too! Came highly recommended by friends that had used previously. Also, the great log book of pervious bakes made it impossible not to book!
Emma was absolutely fab, and most importantly the cake was delicious!! From our first consultation Emma really understood what we wanted from our cake, and was more than happy to accommodate unusual flavour combinations and ideas. She also happily amended the cake to an entirely vegan creation at short notice, and the end result was amazing. Emma also went above and beyond in recommending alternative catering when our caterer cancelled on us 6 months before the wedding – she was brilliant! Emma was very quick to respond to our initial enquiry emails, and very happy to arrange a tasting and appointment even though our wedding was nearly 2 years away at this point. She had a lot of examples and ideas to hand and was able to guide us with ideas on finishes and flavours. She was so friendly and really understood our ‘vision’ for the cake, and the whole process was so straight forward… and the cakes were amazing!
Emma was recommended through our photographers, and her prices were very reasonable. Because of Emma’s location and closeness to our venue, but also because I could see from her online presence that she excelled in creative, quirky designs, which is what I wanted.
Your fruit buns are Amazing.the best I ever tried .even cafe buns don’t compare .they are also better than restaurant ones I tried .thank you

Placed a last minute order of 48 Russian Doll cupcakes, which were beautifully produced and ready on time. The party went with a bang, and everyone loved the cupcakes (they looked amazing and tasted even better!) – definitely recommended 🙂

I have taken delivery of a very beautiful boozy Christmas cake, personally delivered by the lovely Emma herself – it looks amazing and I’m trying so hard to save it for Christmas!!! I would definitely recommend Buns of Fun for yummy food that’s pleasing on the eye & in the tum!!

Just to say how terrific it was to meet you in person yesterday and how fab we thought the cake was.
Sorry I have been so busy and away until yesterday, the cake was fantastic and as it was eaten later as a dessert for the buffet of haggis, neeps and tatties!! it was well fought over, making several trips up and down a huge dining table that we gathered round for eating our haggis. So yes all went very well.
It did look lovely and everyone that I spoke to said what a lovely cake it was to look at and eat!

We were lucky to stumble upon Emma and her wonderful cake business at the local farmers market and from the moment we sampled her cupcakes we knew they would be perfect for our wedding.
Nothing was too much trouble and Emma helped us with every aspect of deciding the style, design and flavours.
Her reliability and flexibility really gave us peace of mind and meant we had one less thing to worry about on our big day.
We chose a variety of Lemon, Strawberry and Vanilla in a traditional cupcake style, dusted with iridescent glitter to give them a hint of glamour. Not only did they look fabulous on the 6 tier stand but they tasted divine and all our guests commented on how delicious they were.
